An economical and sustainable design for the new youth center embodies community goals, fostering a sense of place and belonging.

This project is in a neighborhood under served by public parks and recreational programs. The client wanted to provide a public recreational space, yet had a limited budget and accelerated construction schedule. Through the use of durable and economical materials, the streamlined design creates a suite of spaces that are visually united yet functionally independent. A range of enrichment and recreational spaces channel youthful energy into productive pursuits. Transparency and color make the space welcoming, while providing views of activity and civic participation. The Center brings an underserved community together by offering an after school space for neighborhood children.
